Earth 2150 is one of the first (Homeworld was the first) FULLY 3D RTS (Real Time Strategy) games to hit your PC.
When 50-100 units are all milling around on-screen in full detail, your computer's
graphics capabilities are put to the test.
Huge nuclear explosions, as well as general battle carnage add
to the on-screen visual feast. With design and depth far beyond any other RTS
game to date, it's now a favorite in the Castanet bunker.
Earth 2150 has it bugs, if you get too many units on the screen
it will bring even the biggest CPU to it's knees. But other than that the game
is very very enjoyable, playing either multiplayer head to head or CO-OP against
the AI.
If you are seriously
into RTS, Earth 2150 and its expansion The Moon Project should be in your library.
Multiplayer (the stuff that matters):
Earth 2150 multiplayer
is decent, supporting up to 8 players on LAN and over the internet. 8 players
might be a little much though...unless you limit the number of units a player
can have. All in all it is a very enjoyable game, not only to play but just
to sit and look at.
