Tribes 2 has got
to be one of the most addictive, team-based first person shooters out there.
The graphics are good, the sound tracks are decent, and the audio taunts rock.
Tribe 2's strength
lies in it's game play. Unique options like the jetpack (which allows a player
to lift off the ground and fly over short distances) and the differing types
of mech armour (light, medium and heavy) give T2 and amazing freshness. The
driveable vehicles (including a bomber, hover bike, hover tank and more) make
playing T2 even more fun. For even more advanced gameplay there is the deployable
defense turrets, mobile inventory stations, and equipment packs (including the
ever popular cloak- pack), which allow you to take the fight right into the
enemies base. The multitude of strategies that can be employed is virtually
limitless.
Lots of items can
be destroyed and repaired (ie: generators that power your base's big turrets,
vehicle pads, and inventory stations). This ability to repair things in game
really adds to the game play and makes T2 more like Rogue Spear than Quake 3.
This game is extremely
deep. With all these details it's easy to see why the Tribes 2 team play experience
is one like no other.
Multiplayer (the stuff that matters):
Tribes 2 is one
of those games whose strength lies in it's multiplayer abilities. Really, Tribes
2 wouldn't be much of a game without it. I mean, how much fun is any of the
above mentioned abilities like controllable vehicles, deployable turrets etc
if you can't do it as a team with a bunch of other humans not a bunch of lousy
AI?
This game Hella
Rocks when it comes to co-op play! There is nothing like flying in with a bomber
or transport filled with your buddies and raining down a little "death
from above" on the opposing team! "I got your number...I got all your
numbers!" Hell Ya!
