On the opposite end of the FPS spectrum than Quake 3, Rogue Spear is a strategy based FPS that is a real challenge.
True squad-based, and team-play elements make this a strategy
filled experience. Realistically, in Rogue Spear, it doesn't take many bullets
to be put out of commission, so each movement, each step taken should be carefully
planned out before being put into action.
We have played
countless hours of Rogue Spear at the bunker and have truly enjoyed it. The
Rogue Spear engine is really dated now and it is hard to know whether Red Storm
will publish as good a game as Rogue Spear in the future.
Multiplayer (the stuff that matters):
The entire Rainbow
Six series is about team play. Which is why it has been such a popular game
over the years at the Bunker. MOst hardcore Quake players find Rogue Spear to
be frustrating...mostly cause you can't run in guns blazing, well you can but
then you're dead and don't get to respawn until the end of the match...Ahhh
that's tooo bad! For those of us who really get off on the strategy end of things
Rogue Spear offers hours of endless fun, tossing frags into rooms and laying
down with a good sniper rifle off somewhere in the level giving people a case
of "leaky head syndrome"!
